From the mid-50’s many progressive British models were influenced by American styling, but none more-so than the E series Vauxhalls.  This one presented in Sylvan Green with Cherry Red upholstery would have been an eye-full parked in a street of greyish post-war saloons, and is identical almost to the E Series Michael Caine drove to impress the girls in “Alfie”. We first purchased this car from a local enthusiast about 15 years ago and have supplied it twice- the last owner taking delivery 10 years ago. Exceptionally corrosion free, we bare-metalled and repainted the car prior to delivery and since then it has been used for special outings and entering car shows where it has won a number of awards on its condition. With a large file of documentation including buff- log book, the mileage of 49,000 is believed genuine. Described affectionately by the last owner as a sculptured work of art, its curvaceous shape bejewelled with lashings of chrome-work is indeed an awesome sight, and the bright, spacious ‘American diner’ interior makes it a pleasure to ride out in. Imposing, but small enough to fit in a standard lock-up, and a relaxed, economical drive, this is a perfect useable classic which appeals equally to those old enough to remember them and those who have never seen a Wyvern before.
