The vintage year for these benefitting from original fitment of the all synchromesh gearbox (with ‘5th’ gear overdrive) but just prior to the quality cutbacks imposed on trim, withdrawal of fog lights etc with the ’67 models on. This being the 3.8 is the most sought after especially with its power steering, cooling and braking system upgraded by M&C Wilkinson who (in our opinion) are one of the most skilled at improving these cars without detracting from their lovable characteristics. Approximately £15,000 was spent during 2020 with small mileage covered since. The voluminous history file indicates the mileage of 62,000 since new as likely correct with original carpets (still excellent) and its interior leather and fabrics all pointing to very low usage. For some years during the 1980’s and 90’s this car was in America. In 2012 Ken Bell,-the notable ex- Coombes of Guildford and former technical advisor to JEC surveyed this car concluding “very well presented in very good condition and specification” and “drives well responding to all controls in a satisfactory manner” later adding “the vehicle appears remarkably corrosion free with good panel fit and paint finish.” It has been mollycoddled since, and all that was said still applies. Presented in Opalescent Silver Grey with Red Leather and chrome wire wheels, this is a very fine example with amazingly well preserved originality which very few still possess. Choice of original or Moto-Lita wood-rim steering wheel (both photographed). The car was repainted in 1997 retaining its lustre remarkably well, the interior trim is lovely and  woodwork is particularly good. Chrome is near perfect for the most part. We sold this car to the two previous owners, so know it well and it is very sensibly priced.
