First of the highly successful ‘grand sports tourer’ inspired by project Java a decade earlier, the GT re-acquainted Bentley owners with the option of a more compact daily driver for the first time (arguably) since the 1950’s Mk 6 and R Type generation. Like many classics before it, the original ‘as launched’ has the purest looks and it is hard to imagine a more stylish modern classic within its price range. Finished in Dark Sapphire with Saffron hide complemented by Navy Blue hide top roll and arm-rests with traditional veneers, this rich combination suits the car well. It has two service books totalling 16 stamps and a bundle of invoices all supporting 74,000 miles. Previously owned (for 7 years) by a Main Board Director a Regional Chairman of The Bentley Drivers’ Club, the car is presented to show condition and would pass for a vehicle considerably younger with far less mileage under its belt. The leather has been treated and the colour sympathetically refreshed, the coachwork is near immaculate and the 20” wheels reconditioned with replacement tyres. The engine compartment gleams and is detailed to show standard- it  would attract compliments with the bonnet raised at club events. The underside is wax-oiled with vulnerable subframes prepared and treated. Outstanding presentation and great value.
