One of very few low mileage, authentic and unspoilt Mark 2 Jaguars with the desirable and most refined 3.4 litre option. There are two substantial files charting the car’s history from the original invoice, first tax disc, personalised factory correspondence with the local Coventry based owner to authorised dealer SH Newsome and Jaguar Cars. The car changed hands to the second owner in 2003, two more since, and we acquired the car directly from the last gentleman. The mileage is just 33,000 from new. Later invoices support a replacement of ageing bushes etc and the car is lovely underneath. The interior is nothing short of remarkable as the seats were protected by original seat covers until around 15 years ago, and the original carpets are excellent and unworn. Door panels, headlining etc are excellent, the wood veneers just very slightly patinated, but still lovely. The flanks of this car are beautifully straight with doors closing as they did in the day. Chrome work is near perfect, and windscreens still bearing their original factory ‘running in’ and ‘heated rear window’ stickers. Only due to unavoidable light fading, the car was repainted within the last couple of years with fastidious attention to ensuring a perfect match to shuts, boot are and engine compartment which are superb and remain original. With chrome wire wheels and automatic transmission (with speed-hold), the car has Reuter reclining seats, original radio and very rare period hazard warning. Finished in Opalescent Maroon with Beige Hide, this is one of the most pleasing colour combinations.
