The early, most coveted version of the original XJ6 with ‘chrome dials’, this might well be the best survivor of its kind especially with the rarer manual and overdrive transmission. There is an enormous history file with this car, which supports the mileage of 35,000 since new. It was a well known concours car in the 1990’s with accompanying press cuttings recording those wins. The car remains in prize-winning order throughout and could easily return to the show circuit. Added to this, the car was featured in a well-regarded Jaguar book, on the cover of Jaguar World and featured in ‘The car’s the star’ on national television. Since its time in the limelight, the car has been cherished in collections and we sold it previously about 10 years ago. Recent ‘vintage tyre’ Dunlops fitted all round costing over £1,000. Finished in the launch brochure colour Powder Blue with Dark Navy hide, this is one of the most adored period combinations. The ultimate Series One.
